April Wrap-Up // I Kind Of Disappeared But I Read Some Books!!

April flew by so quickly I felt like I didn’t even have the chance to breath.

So much happened this month, and it felt like a never ending cycle of: eat, school, sleep, repeat. I genuinely still cannot believe we are a third of the way through 2022… what is happening.

Today I’m recapping the month and how it’s been for me lately! It still feels like I’ve done absolutely nothing but I’ve been especially busy with prepping for an AP exam and finals. I’ll hopefully get those out of the way in the next few weeks :’)

edit: as of now I’ve completed my first AP exam (today)! It was Very Stressful absolutely do not recommend but it was necessary (I have 4 to take next year so I’m excited for those…)

I read 4 books in April! I’m pretty sure this number is inaccurate though, because I haven’t been keeping track of what I’ve been reading on Goodreads and I’ve been reading books on and off spontaneously (we love mood reading habits!). There’s been a few books I’m reading currently, and they are The Tangleroot Palace, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (doing a reread of this just to feel something!!), and Eva Evergreen, Semi-Magical Witch (this is very reminiscent of Kiki’s Delivery Service and it’s adorable so far).

darius the great deserves better all the right reasons daughter of the moon goddess perfect on paper

  • Darius the Great Deserves Better by Adib Khorram || I was scrolling through the books in my kindle and decided to reread an old favorite, and it was just as good as I remembered! ★★★★☆
  • All the Right Reasons by Bethany Mangle || cute and funny but character development could have been written more thoroughly + kind of forgettable ★★★☆☆
  • Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan || I’m Not Like Other Girls + love triangle in a Chinese fantasy,, not sure if I loved it </3 ★★★☆☆
  • Perfect On Paper by Sophie Gonzales || presenting my new comfort contemporary!! so brilliant and made me soft ★★★★☆

I’ve been more busy these days, especially with finals and AP exams coming up! So I might disappear for a few weeks to finish the school year off and finally start summer break (I’ve never wanted anything more I am literally Yearning for it). And while I’m gone, I hope to actually be productive for once and prewrite some posts so I don’t have to rush everything at once and cause burnout :’)

my posts

  • I performed in my first ever dance concert on stage! In reality, my first dance concert was last year, but because of covid, it was virtual, but this year I actually got to be on stage for three nights! It was surreal and I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I would be.
  • My birthday came and went and I stayed at home while having really bad allergies. I also had some time to relax and a nice highlight of my month was when I started watching my first K-drama (yes I am finally obsessing over K-dramas now are you proud of me), Crash Landing On You! I’d heard so many good things about it from my friends and finally decided to start. So far, the beginning is unrealistic but the chemistry + the banter in the romance is getting to me and I’m really enjoying it!! It is absolutely ridiculous how quickly I’ve invested myself in it.
  • In April, I listened to a lot more music than usual and over listened to too many songs… to the point where I am sick of them now. But I’ve been listening to a lot of Sarah Kinsley, Harry Styles (no thoughts just As It Was), and a lot of songs from different artists—some of my current obsessions are The Adults Are Talking, Stargazing, and Love Dive! (On that note: if anyone has any music recs I’ll gladly take them! I love indie rock/pop)
  • And it’s already the last month of school?? The last month of my sophomore year!!! I can’t believe this year has flown by so quickly and I don’t want to be a junior yet—I still feel like a freshman :’)

how was your month? what have you been watching and listening to? and for those of you still in school, good luck on finals!!

  5. Congratulations on your first dance performance, that sounds like an incredible experience! My April was super stressful, I’m in the process of finishing my undergraduate degree so I have to write a thesis, do an oral exam and finish writing a paper,,,and all I want is a nice long summer vacation. So I feel you on yearning for the summer because same! I can’t wait to do absolutely nothing but sleep and read and not think about school haha. I hope you have a lovely May!
